Throwback Thursday - Fundraising Auctions raise £20,000 at Midsummer Ball

Back in June on Saturday 24^th  we attended the Hilton Brighton Metropole’s Night at the Musicals themed Midsummer Ball. This fantastic event was held to raise the vital funds needed to help the young people of Sussex. The four charities who are to benefit from the funds raised are Chestnut Tree House, Chailey Heritage Foundation, The Starr Trust and Action Medical Research for Children.

We were extremely happy to once again provide our service and run the silent auction which raised over £20,000.00. We used our interactive auction service which meant that guests were bidding on their smart phones and tablets. With a selection of donated items we also provided our fantastic range of bespoke auction prizes including a Florida Villa, Henley Champagne & Canape Cruise, Private Dining for 10 People at Gordon Ramsay’s maze and more! There was more fundraising throughout the night including a live auction, raffles and other fundraising games.

Part of the evening’s entertainment was a dance and singing competition that reflects the theme of the evening. Each beneficiary charity selected a charity competitor to represent their cause. With three judges and a room full of attendees each charity gave their best performance and everyone loved it! Tables were then asked to vote for their winner by putting cash into a specific envelope of their choice which raised over £4,000.00 on the night. The winner was Anthony Nelson who performed on behalf of Action Medical Research with a great performance of Singing in the Rain.

The night itself raised over £100,000.00 which is an incredible amount and will help hundreds of sick, disabled and vulnerable young people in Sussex.
